Get this, kids prefer to stand and eat in 35 degrees C on a summer day here than they do in their own college canteen. That should give you a sense of the popularity of this place. Like Pure Milk Centre, Anand will have you know that there’s more to life than a sada dosa.

A discreet little hole-in-the-wall in Hauz Khas, Thalaivar’s menu is packing some major power South Indian, unbeknownst to the average Delhizen. While they do some great biryanis and appam-and-stew plates, it’s their dosas that make it worth squeezing into the tiny, colourful space and chowing down. Meat-eaters should waste no time ordering anything but the chicken keema dosa, followed by a glass (or several) of their cool spiced buttermilk to chase it all down with.
